Early hours of the morning, last Friday I believe, the Art Cubes arrived on the beach of Noosa. The small group of dedicated Noosa Open Studios committee members and a couple of artists, met at The Spit to arrange the 27 Art Cubes for the photographer. I didn't quite make the early morning as planned, so I arrived and found them all lined along the sand. The sunrise was in full swing , the rain had stopped and the air was cool. An incredible sight. I hadn't seen all them as yet, and the boxes were quite impressive. Colourful, different, bold. The photographer focused on the job at hand. I couldn't get very close as he wanted a clear space. A couple of birds landed on the box with the magpie. He hadn't received the memo apparently. I enjoyed the morning. it brought back good memories of the other installations and art projects we've done for the Noosa Open Studios in the past. The deck chairs were terrific. A lot of physical work though, moving them around. We packed them up onto the trailer, and the good people who were storing, transporting and arranging for them to be taken to the hinterland for the afternoon photo shoot, handed out a much welcome cup of hot tea and a delicious muffin..
Here are some photos of the Art Cubes I painted.
