Why I Paint
I paint to remember.
Through experience, I discover things about myself and human nature that change how I see. I paint to preserve those insights and the feelings that accompany them.
My paintings become visual stories, holding the complexity of an experience without reducing it to a single truth. Through expressive figures, symbolism and multiple perspectives, I invite viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to the work.
I hope that somewhere within a painting, someone recognises something of themselves — a feeling, a question or an understanding they thought was theirs alone.
Because perhaps one of the most powerful things art can do is remind us that, in our differences and contradictions, we share the experience of being human.
